Whatever happened to respecting people? It seems
every time I turn on the news I hear of another personal attack on our
politicians. I'm all about debating the issues, and being able to disagree with
policies. I am however getting disgusted with people/organizations personally
attacking our elected officials. When did America become a country of bitter
people taking every chance to personally chastise our public figures in
office?
No matter if your a Democrat or Republican
personal attacks have no business in the headlines. It's not for anyone to say
that a black man has no right to be president; it's not for anyone to say that
a old man can't run the country. How dare people personally attack people they
don't even know. Sure disagree with their views all you want, but don't attack
someone for those views. We are a free country, and one of those freedoms is the
ability to believe in whatever you want. But to personally attack someone is downright
wrong.
We all should respect the position officials
hold; whether it be a lonely sheriff or the President on the United States. No
matter who they are, they worked hard to achieve their position. I am by no
means a fan of Barack Obama, but I do respect him. I will criticize his
political views, but I will never personally attack him.
